The site is intended as an on-line resource for people to learn more about the historical activities of the Clifford Essex companies, and in particular their range of high quality instruments and especially their banjos.

This is an on-going project will be growing by the month, please feel free to submit comments and questions - photographs and descriptions of instruments are always welcome.

After an absence of more than 30 years - The Clifford Essex Music Co Ltd opened again for business in Spring 2009.

The Company, which is largely internet based, specialises in:

• A full range of high quality strings and plectrums for all fretted instruments,
• Tutor books and CDs (including some that have long been out of print)
• Hard to find spare parts
• A full repair service for vintage fretted instruments
• A range of craftsman-made banjos, mandolins  and guitars
